David Bermant collects technological art and he also owns shopping centers. He is not alone in the world by virtue of either fact, but the way in which he combines these aspects of his life certainly makes him unusual if not unique.Bermant believes that the most significant art for today expresses the scientific principles which represent the vanguard of human thought and which underlie the values of our time. He gives life to this belief by placing this kind of art in public places for all to experience. Further, he devotes considerable energy to getting others to follow suit by enabling artists to have the means to explore what is still, perhaps surprisingly, relatively uncharted waters.Modern science and modern art have been exchanging values since the beginning of the century so the wonder is, I suppose, that there is not more technological art in the world.HAROLD LEHR Water Sculptures 197273
